RESIDENTS AWAKE AFTER ROCK SMASHES WINDOW

Halton police are investigating following a break-in to an Oakville home on Monday, June 5.

At around 1:30 a.m., three male suspects approached a residence on Burgundy Drive and threw a rock through a window, police said.

It's alleged they then used the hole to reach in and unlock the door so they could enter.

Residents within the home reportedly awoke to the sound of the window breaking.

Possibly realizing this, the suspects allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle described as a sedan.

Police said the suspects were seen at one point gathered around a vehicle in the driveway and believe the break-in may have been an attempt to get the keys to steal this vehicle.

No one was injured during this incident and none of the residents were confronted by the intruders.

No detailed suspect descriptions are available.

BURNING CAR FOUND IN MILTON

Halton police are looking for the person responsible for setting a truck on fire in Milton on Sunday, June 4.

At around 4:30 p.m., Halton police attended a car fire on the road in the area of Fourth Nassagaweya Line and 20 Side Road.

The burning black Ford F250 was extinguished but not before being completely destroyed.

Police said the vehicle had been reported stolen in Oakville.

No suspect description is available.

MAN ARRESTED AFTER SEEN WITH KNIFE AT BURLINGTON WALMART

A 29-year-old man is facing charges following an incident at a Burlington Walmart on Thursday, June 1.

At around 11 p.m., a witness left the Walmart at 2065 Fairview St., to find a man standing by their vehicle holding a knife, police said.

The suspect then entered the Walmart.

Halton police were called to the scene and made one arrest.

A search of this individual resulted in police finding two knives.

A 29-year-old Burlington man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of recognizance.

He has since been released pending a court appearance.

BANK CARDS STOLEN FROM RETIREMENT RESIDENCE AND USED TO MAKE FRAUDULENT PURCHASES

Halton police are investigating following a theft from the Pearl and Pine Retirement residence on Tuesday, May 23.

At some point between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., someone attended the 390 Pearl St., retirement home, entered a dwelling unit while the occupant was away, and stole jewelry and a wallet, police said.

It's alleged bank cards from the wallet were then used to make fraudulent purchases in Markham and Niagara.

No suspect descriptions are available.

FORKLIFT STOLEN

Halton police are looking for a forklift that was stolen in Oakville.

At some point between Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20 someone attended an address on Maurice Drive and stole the forklift, police said.

The piece of construction equipment is valued at around $65,000.

No suspect description is available.

AUTO PARTS STOLEN

Halton police are looking for the person responsible for stealing $20,000 worth of auto parts from a home in Milton on Tuesday, May 30.

The packages of auto parts were on the front porch of a dwelling on Whitlock Avenue when a man approached, took the packages, loaded them into a vehicle and left the scene, police said.

The suspect is described as wearing a black ski mask, a black sweater, and black pants.
